最近数年間に訪れた場所の中から大地の成り立ちが地表に現れた風景を選び、自分のリズムと身体の動き、色彩感覚を大切にしながら抽象化した油彩作品を展示する。取材場所は礼文島、東尋坊、大涌谷、黒部、別府など。

タイトルの“memory of the earth”とは、億年、万年単位の大地自体の記憶であり、
現代に生きる私が記憶した大地の様相でもある。変化して止まないと同時に調和に満ちた大自然の一部として描いているという意識を常に持ちたいと思っている。

I picked up a few sites conveying some aspects of formation of the earth surface, and transferred their images onto my canvas, with my inspiration originating from their configuration and colors.

The sites abstracted herein include Rebun Island, Tojinbou, Owakudani, Kurobe Canyon and Beppu among others.

The title of “memory of the earth” is taken from the fact that the current surface of the earth is the result of its activities of more than one hundred million years, which resonates with memory of my existence as a part of it.

I always keep in mind to be conscious that I depict my works as a part of great nature constantly changing its shape but with full harmony.
